IP Expert NOC

Job Description

  1. IP Resolution

    • Resolves issues on the IP/MPLS Network swiftly and promptly in compliance with stipulated policies and procedures and quality standards

    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the latest technology trends in the market, region and globally on Fixed Network

    • Provides second line support to NOC for any escalated issues of Government/Corporate Customers or general broadband issues

    • Supports the IP Provisioning teams in developing new config scripts and implements any new solution

    • Analyzes IP Core Managed Services reports to determine network logic and malfunction trends, and recommends improvements to enhance network performance

    • Closely liaison with Wholesale Business Unit (WBU) for Internet Gateways Capacity expansion and peering optimization

    • Identifies optimization opportunities in the Network to improve performance and/or to save costs

    • Creates functional and operational network requirements and specifications based on the solutions being proposed by CSD (Customer Solution Department)

    • Produces and submits IP/MPLS network risk reports for the management review and analysis, and identifies gaps for network optimization and performance improvement

    • Coordinates with NPD (Network Planning Department) and 3rd Party Vendors to test and Evaluate Proof of concepts (PoC) for the deployment of new products/solutions in IGW/IPCore network

    • Submits and execute Change Management Requests for network optimization

  2. Unit KPI Management and Compliance Alignment with Business Plan

    • Regularly follows-up and closely monitors VP-INU KPIs (Fixed) and advices on alternate plans on a timely manner to ensure KPI commitments are met to align with Organizational Objectives, by avoiding last minute activities/urgent projects to meet KPIs through regular monitoring/alternate action plans

  3. Program Management

    • Supports in Program Management/Delivery of Strategic Projects (e.g. LTE Rollout, SRAN Projects, IGW Expansion etc.) coordinating project teams and providing guidelines in order to meet management requirements

  4. Reporting

    • Reporting on technical issues to O&M management

    • Providing technology expertise and competitive analysis as-needed.

Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Network technologies, systems and features
  • Good understanding on Inter domain multiprotocol Unicast routing using BGPv4 (IPv4, VPNv4, IPv6)
  • Thorough understanding and experience on MPLS, MPLS VPN (L2 and L3), MPLS Traffic-Engineering
  • Familiar with Security concepts. VPN, Firewalls, NAT
  • Product Experience on Huawei (NE80E, NE5000E, CX, and ATN), Juniper (MX, M series) and Cisco routers/switches is preferred.
